When did that happen? pwc used to require all sorts of black magic, kernel fiddling, sacrificing goats at full moon, etc. and I (for one - I know of others) never did get it to work.
I might be wrong about the current pwc being in the kernel. I might be thinking of the "open" pwc that was in kernel 2.4 but only gave a postage stamp size of picture without the "closed" pwcx module. I think adding pwc to the kernel was what led to the disagreement described here: http://www.smcc.demon.nl/webcam/ All I can tell you is the new pwc apparently comes with Mepis, so hopefully this is also the case with SuSE. I had to do absolutely nothing to get it to work. Just plug in the cam and the module loads. Within seconds I am viewing the cam on camstream. For anyone who needs pwc, download links and instructions are available at http://www.saillard.org/linux/pwc/ Bryan *************************************** Powered by Mepis Linux 3.4-3 KDE 3.5.2 KMail 1.8.3 This is a Microsoft-free computer Bryan S.
