If you are interested in speed of upgrading your SuSE, THEN NukeNPave. If you want to keep your data, backup first, then do the upgrade but expect a long wait and use the DVD. (Why not include the backup process as part of the upgrade script, so we can get people into the habit of backing data up.)
I wish that SuSE and the maintainers of the rpm command would make platform-dependent version of YAST that would recognise desktop installations with large amounts of memory and use table-driven algorthms for speed inside of rpm vs using typical mathematical calculations.
Another decision choice would be to delay the full install of seldom-needed packages until they are truly needed via broadband or DVD. Tag and delay packages such as the game section would help decrease the upgrade/install time.
Faster installation time would make a good decision of using Linux better.

Did you remember to also use the "Addon" cd that contains AA 7.0 and
others?
