Hi Jose,
I don't recall the exact error message, but I was unable to start the
installation using just the contents of CD1 copied to hard disk. I *was* able
to install using the 'pre-DVD' installation source produced by Houghi's
makeSUSEdvd script (thanks, Houghi!) I used the script to produce only the
local hard disk based installation source that is the precursor to burning a
DVD.
See: http://en.opensuse.org/Installation_without_CD
FYI, the word "catalogue' seems to be used in certain warning/error messages
in YaST's 'Installation Source' module. I think it's referring to package
indexes that, for some reason, cannot be found or read.
hth & regards,
Carl
