I run Zend studio and the debugger needs to connect to port 10000. Since I'm having trouble getting the debugger to work, I wondered if it might be that the firewall was preventing it from making a connection (the error message I get that says, "Failed to make a connection" is a bit of a clue, I suspect).
Can anyone explain to me how I can - preferably using YaST because I'm none too good at Sysadmin type things - open port 10000 to the debugger, which is running on the same machine so it's coming from 127.0.0.1 presumably, without exposing it to the world at large.
I highly doubt this is a firewall issue, because the default firewall has precisely two entries pertaining to the loopback device (which is the device used for all localhost traffic): ~ # iptables-save|grep -w lo -A INPUT -i lo -j ACCEPT -A OUTPUT -o lo -j ACCEPT Everything on dev lo is accepted, regardless of source/destination ports.
