Hi list,..
I installed SuSE 10.1-x86_64 on Intel dual core. After installing packages,
the PC restarted and won't boot. Here's what GRUB said:
Graphic file "(hd1,0) /boot/message" missing, press a key to continue
After i pressed a key, GRUB menu showed up. When i chose Linux, GRUB said,
Booting 'Linux'
root(hd1,0)
Filesystem type unknown, partition type 0x7 kernel /boot/vmlinuz
root=/dev/hda1 vga=0x317 resume=/dev/hda6 splash=silent showopts
Error 17: Cannot mount selected partition.
Again, after pressing a key, the menu showed up. I chose any other
selection, GRUB said,
Booting 'Filesafe'
Error 18: Selected cylinder exceeds maximum supported by BIOS.
My suse 10.1 partition is /dev/hda1. Is this a hardware issue? Should i use
32 bit version instead?
Thanks,
Adinda P
