I ahve just finished D/L 10.1 and are ready to use it. What is the recommendation is it better to upgrade version 10.0 or blow it away and install 10.1 anew. Normally I would just start afresh but I do have a lot of stuff installed on the box and I wonder if I would be better off upgrading seeing its only a minor upgrade. What do others think?

I did an upgrade today and had 0 problems, as far as I can tell. Mind you, I don't have any non-GPL drivers (as far as I know). My monitor is about 4 years old and it looked just the same after the upgrade as before (no problems whatsoever). As far as the new update procedure, when I installed, the installation automatically went out and picked up all of the latest updates with no problems. Whenever the new "software updater" notifies me that there are updates available, I plan on just going straight to YaST/YOU and not going through that software. Maybe that way I'll avoid some of the problems others have had when/after going through this new updater. Of course, I have a pretty nice menu driven disaster recover system that I can use to recover the last complete system backup I made, so I could have quite easily gone back to my 10.0 system if things were really bad and I couldn't work through the problems. That being the case, I didn't really have anything to risk in at least giving the update option a try. Greg Wallace
