If YAST is used to install a printer and then the 'Test' option is used, there is no output to the printer. Also, printer output from other apps such as Open Office and GIMP then remains stuck in the print queue.
Rebooting the PC (and avoiding the 'Test' option) allows printing to proceed normally.

I don't recollect having this problem with SuSE v9.1 or earlier versions.
