yes, I understand the process. However this dont mean the modules exists.

and the checksum may be broken for a kernel part not at all related to this particular module, isn't it (depends of what "various parts" are :-()?

sorry, I don't understand "fallback handling"?

on a security patch, you can't go back to the preceding kernel?
