Nope, sorry !! Just doesn't "stick". Just need to knock down X and restart.
Still have to bring up the Gnome-Contro;-Center to start the daemon. Don't
even have to change anything, just open it and close it. Maybe this should
be a requested feature ??

Wish I could have confirmed it. Even tried a couple of different installed
fonts. Sorry.
