What is the best (easy, but secure) way to make a full backup of the complete SLES9 system on DVD? I tried to make a tar ball, but somehow it keeps growing (above 10GB), so apparently it keeps including itself.
For a package that is free you can use mondo-archive, not sure if it is included with SLES9. There is Microlite BackupEdge which has the ability to backup to DVD and also allows disaster recovery from that same DVD. For a business it is very much worth the cost, couple of hundred dollars US. -- Ken Schneider UNIX since 1989, linux since 1994, SuSE since 1998
