I remember reading in a blog by a Macromedia developer that there will
Flash 8 for Linux, but it will not be 64-bit and will be release at
be a the same
time Flash 8.5 is released He did acknowledge that the 64-bit version of Flash is in the works, but couldn't give a time frame.
Ahh, hadn't thought of looking that up. Now things are a bit clearer.
From the Thursday, December 22, 2005 blog of Emmy Huang, Product Manager of the Flash Player..
"Instead of releasing a 8.0 version we will directly move to 8.5 on Linux..I see that as a big benefit as gcc is a more strict and standards compliant compiler than Visual Studio or CodeWarrior." http://www.kaourantin.net/2005/12/flash-player-8-for-linux-update.html http://weblogs.macromedia.com/emmy/archives/2005/12/why_isnt_there.cfm -- kai ponte www.perfectreign.com || www.livebeans.com linux - genuine windows replacement part
