hm, I think this symbol comes from liby2util. Maybe you should get the latest versions of both manually http://ftp.gwdg.de/linux/suse/ftp.suse.com/suse/i386/update/9.1/rpm/i586/yas... http://ftp.gwdg.de/linux/suse/ftp.suse.com/suse/i386/update/9.1/rpm/i586/lib... and install them manually with rpm -Uvh
Why would susewatcher's path affect staring YOU from inside of YaST, or for than matter YaST's "Install and Remove Software" module?
It wouldn't. But the actual error you reported in your first mail was that kdesu couldn't even find the yast2 command. You didn't get a yast error saying it failed to launch the module, you couldn't even launch yast, and that isn't a bug in yast.
