For future reference, if you ever run into an issue where you can't search on something in your country due to IP restrictions, simply use an anymous proxy.

I use the ones listed on this site often to pretend I'm - say - in France or Turkey or Australia. There are many other proxy sites as well. In addition, you can sign up for various proxy services. I am subscribed to cotse.net (shameless plug!) which is used to be my anon proxy from home.
I typically have at least one browser - Opera - setup to always run through a proxy.
I've been trying to follow this... Going with the subject title, I'm going to ask a stupid question(s). Why would you want to do this? (other than getting google to give you different results) Is it just a matter of entering in the proxy info in the network setup...? Are they faster? I guess they hide who you are, but why is that an issue? This may seem like a obvious thing, but I guess I'm not getting it. TIA- -- Thanks, George If you play a Windows 2000 disk backwards you will hear satanic chants but - and this is much more frightening - if you play it forwards it installs Windows.
