Hi you all,
I am having a trouble booting suse 10, i receive Grub Error 17 everitime suse is rebooted. No recoveries of system are possible when recovering the system with suse disk number one.
I inserted CD1 and rebooted the system, and then entered others/repair_existent_installation, but it fails at 51% of the process. Then i selected others/enter_existent_installation, it sends me to the command mode but i have not found any way to rescue the actual installation.
Finally i decided to save my important files to a usb pendrive but no mounting of the device has been possible. I just enter: "mount -t type device dir" like this:
mount -t subfs /dev/sdb1 /home/juanflores/pendrive
then
mount
but it never appears as mounted... any suggestion?? thanks
Try to cd to the dir after you mount the pendrive: mount /dev/sdb1 /home/juanflores/pendrive (you should not need to specify the filesystem type to mount a pendrive) cd /home/juanflores/pendrive mount or use df to show which filesystems are mounted and how much space is used/available. -- Ken Schneider UNIX since 1989, linux since 1994, SuSE since 1998
