Intel cards have worked great. I've had numerous headaches with
Broadcom cards, however.

I've always put Pro100 cards into my machines.
They're universally supported, (heck even Windows comes with drivers)
reliable and perform well.

I pick them up second hand at computer fairs,
the last pair I bought cost me AU$4 each.
