I think I'm having the same headaches now, on a SLES9 server with all updates.
Looking at the kernel source I see that the tg3 driver is version 3.37 rel.
2005-Aug-25. In my 10.1beta8, there's driver 3.49 rel 2006-Feb-2
Your headaches with Broadcom have been occurring a long time ago? The idea is
that maybe the driver has improved since then.
I'm seriously considering buying Intel cards for those servers.
What kind of problems were you having?
