What is the command line command to see what user is logged into the first display in X?
On SUSE Linux 9.0 I used to be able to see that with last :0
But that does not work on SUSE Linux 10.0
Greetings James, thank you for a fast answer. :o) Lørdag 25 februar 2006 23:31 kvad James Knott:
It still works here. last :0 by itself lists several lines, but last > :0|grep still, shows who's currently on display 0.
That is trange. Output from my command... last :0 ...gives me a blank line and a line saying: wtmp begins Sat Feb 25 21:19:34 2006 Nothing else. last with no options or parameters lists this: root tty1 Sat Feb 25 23:45 - 23:45 (00:00) johnny pts/6 Sat Feb 25 22:54 still logged in root pts/11 Sat Feb 25 22:44 - 22:45 (00:00) johnny pts/8 Sat Feb 25 22:41 - 22:45 (00:04) johnny pts/7 Sat Feb 25 22:39 - 22:45 (00:06) johnny pts/6 Sat Feb 25 22:32 - 22:45 (00:13) johnny pts/7 Sat Feb 25 22:32 - 22:32 (00:00) johnny pts/6 Sat Feb 25 22:28 - 22:32 (00:04) johnny pts/5 Sat Feb 25 22:25 still logged in johnny pts/3 Sat Feb 25 21:19 - 21:33 (00:13) wtmp begins Sat Feb 25 21:19:34 2006 As you can see there is no meintion of any X displays. Does something need to be turned on or off for this to work? Best regards :o) Johnny :o)
