I am all for this change because there has been a lot of confusion about the different versions in the past months - mostly among "outsiders".
But your post arises a couple of questions:
Earlier it was communicated that the 10.1 retail version would install the closed stuff (i.e. Java, Flash) automatically during installation - as opposed to the free download version. Is this still the case?
Yes, that's still the case.
Will the closed stuff will be on the dual layer dvd in the retail version, or only on the addon cd?
DVD always incl. binary only elements. And with CDs we offer a pure open source distribution + 1CD with binary only elements. So everybody can choose the version he likes. Michael
These are not matters of major importance - but I'm writing a (Danish) guide for 10.1 and I'd like to know these things before the release.
