Dear People,
I an new to this list, though not to linux and especially SuSE linux. A few
weeks ago I bought a laptop Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo V 2045. I have a problem
with the sound card. I have searched through internet but cant seem to find
an answer which solves my problem. The problem is suse can not properly
configure my sound card. It is a high definition audio, which suse
recognizes and configures, however as it s playing a sound file and as soon
as i change the volume setting the sound goes away.
when i restart alsa and reconfigure the card it starts working again, though
with a strange sizzling noise, but again when i change the volume setting
the sound disappears.
Apart from this everything just works perfect but this is so annoying that i
am thinking of compiling a development kernel.
any help is much appreciated.

thank you and kindest regards
sinan
I have a similar laptop Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo M7400 with Intel 82801 ICH4 and Suse 9.3 - and there is the same problem as you have, I have to reactivate the audiostuff through yast2 and almost everything works fine, except "jaaa -A" - this program does not show any signals ...
would very much appreciate any hint ...
