It's not a duplicate of the mentioned case, because Kooka starts with 
selecting a scanner:
hpaio:/usb/PSC_2100_Series?serial=MY35BF4386F  hp PSC_2100_Series and 
after that it states:
Problem: no scanner found.
Your system contains no SANE installation, which is needed to be able to 
scan in KDE
Install and configure SANE

I have studied the adviced article and the SANE website and checked the 
presens of the hpaio backend in the places you could expect.

In my opinion I 'm close to the solution. But what is that small hint 
for me?
