Hi All,
One of the friends I converted to Linux has a Canon camera that is one of the Pict-Bridge types. Mine is just a FAT/USB device, and has always "just worked."
Does one have to do anything to make such a camera connect, or should it simply show up as a file system somewhere (under /media ?). My friend has tried to plug it in and it doesn't look like it's doing what a FAT/USB thing would do, so I'm going to go try to help her out, but some idea of what to expect would be would be great. (I tried "apropos pict" and "apropos canon" but didn't find anything useful-looking).
It will just work. Use digikam or f-spot to import photos (gphoto2 on the commandline). Ciao, Marcus
