compiling apache + ldap in sles8

Hy people,
I am triying to compile apache with th ldap module but i when i launch the
.configure it says it doesnt have the correct version of db-berkly db
installed for ldap to work and it stops, i have a sles9 and it works ok, so
its dependecies time, can i compile apache staticly in sles9 and then use it
in sles8?? how do u compile staticly a hole program? what other options i
have??? i need it to work in sles9. PLEAse Help!.
