diff Shiramana Shriramana == "r". :)
Oh, sorry
is so paranoid
Not paranoid. SuperKaramba started downloading one of its applets. Threw up an error. That applet was not installed. But it remains ticked in the applets list. I thought (maybe this is from my Windows experience) that uninstalling the app and reinstalling it will reset its database of its installed applets.
But karamba isn't started by default, and it certainly won't download anything by default. You have to tell it to.
I didn't know that it was a part of kdeutils, as you write:
to uninstall superkaramba, you would uninstall kdeutils3
...since it does not list under the kdeutils description:
The descriptions aren't always accurate rpm -ql kdeutils3 or rpm -qf /opt/kde3/bin/superkaramba
Besides, I really don't want SuperKaramba, and it's a policy of mine not to have installed on my HDD what I don't use, unless it's a "system utility", like most under KDE Menu > System > Monitor. Back on Windows I was very strict with this, but Linux often does not allow me as much freedom with this matter.
s/Linux/rpm/ Linux lets you uninstall anything you want using the handy 'rm' tool. The rpm makers might not be so nice, and you may get an incomplete rpm database from it, but linux won't stop you. Now, try doing the same with internet explorer
