Multiple IP addresses - firewall problem?

I've got a server runing SuSE 9.3 and I want multiple IPs on the network
port for multiple websites.
Using YaST I added two extra IP addresses to the network port. I then tried to add the new IPs to the firewall but it appears I only need to add the device itself. Is this correct?
The upshot is that I can ping all three IPs on this interface from the server itself. However, I can only ping the first two from another server on the same LAN (simple hub - no switch).
Have I configured the server correctly? I think so otherwise the second IP wouldn't work. Why should I have problems with the third IP? I can't see why my network would interfere as I had a server on that IP before and it worked. Plain hub so no switch config to get in the way.
I'm a SuSE newbie so please bear with me.
