Hello,
I upgraded my system to versions 10, but somehow YOU (Yast Online Update) still thinks the system is 9.3. What should I do to fix this?
Clean install.
There are always bugs to chase with a mere upgrade.
I was hoping to be able to solve this without a clean install.
The system involved does have a IDE CD player, and a external DVD on firewire. I have SuSE 10 on DVD...
Would it be possible to make a bootable CD, use that to boot, but once the install starts load the necessary modules for firewire, and then use the DVD as a source?

Its just a file that states what release it is: look at /etc/SuSE-release (Mine is: SUSE LINUX 10.0 (i586) VERSION = 10.0 ) I think you can edit that to your hearts content... As for the install.. i think it could work. -- /Rikard ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- email : rikard.j@rikjoh.com web : http://www.rikjoh.com mob : +46 (0)736 19 76 25 ------------------------ Public PGP fingerprint ---------------------------- < 15 28 DF 78 67 98 B2 16 1F D3 FD C5 59 D4 B6 78 46 1C EE 56 >
