"Novell just signed a contract over more than 32,000,000 EUR with the British National Health Care
services (NHS). Novell will equip their 600,000 workstations used by network administrators
throughout of care centers (clinics, public hospitals, ...) with a Linux operating system.

In the next 3 years, they will be migrated to the Novell Linux Desktop system.

A spokesperson from Novell France: "those workstations were previously equipped with Microsoft
Windows". "This migration contract towards opensource software will save the NHS an approximate 75
million pounds during that period."

At the same time, NHS' servers will be migrated from Netware to Novell Open Enterprise Server.

It's one of the biggest contracts for Novell since the beginning of their Linux strategy.
