8.2 still there, that the incoming works, but do extra things not needed for dialin. These are mostly in the poll.tcpip script. The ip-up script calls this but apparently looks for a variable RUN_POLL_TCPIP, which after some digging should be put in /etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-ppp0 IIANM.
