That looks like the old GNOME 1.x control centre - are you sure you ran it from where I suggested? well, that WAS the gnome 1.0 menu, but I had also looked at the gnome

It's on the Desktop menu on the top menu bar. Alternatively, it's under Applications > Utilities > Desktop (but make sure you choose GNOME Control Centre, not GNOME1 Control Centre)
it is now, but not until I installed gnome screensaver. thanks!! what about docs, readme, someplace I can look next time for info on a command application, whatever??
