Hello everyone: Just a quick observation. Someone remarked that we now say 'IBM' and not 'International Business Machines'. But, the IBM logo is still in 'all caps' and not a combination of upper and lower case letters. It is IBM, not 'IbM' nor 'Ibm'. In the same way, we don't say 'Gesellschaft für Software and System Entwicklung', but SuSE with the lower case 'u'. So, from where I'm sitting, I like SuSE, not SUSE. Just my $0.02 worth.
When a company makes a trademark, they can make it whatever they want. If Novell/SUSE wants to create and register a name "SUSE", there's no reason why they can't. On the other hand, if they want to leave it as an acronym, then SuSE is appropriate, but they might not be able to register it as a trademark.
