Heh, I hadn't thought of that.
Here's why - you're writing a data (not music) CD. Okay, well, the files
are encoded as music, but they are treated just like any other data file
- text, pr0n, executable, beer recipe...
As such the filesystem is responsible for determine the sequence. Since
CD and DVD's use (I think) Joliet and/or Rock Ridge, you're stuck with
what they have to offer.
I SUPPOSE you could rename your files "01_my_first_song",
"02_a_second_song", "03_totally_cool_third_song"... and so on. If not,
you're stuck with sorting by size, date or name.
