Hi all:
I would like to mount my iso file I've created with mkisofs as a loopdevice to a mount point in my home directory but mount gives the error message:
@linux:~> mount image-01.iso mnt -t iso9660 -o loop mount: only root can do that
How could I mount MY file in MY directory? Why would I need to be root for this? I can't understand the policy.
Thanks, IG
A nice way to mount iso images as a regular user without needing su, sudo or an entry in fstab is to use fuse. The kernel module for fuse is included in 10.0, but unfortunately the userspace tools aren't, but they are pretty easy to install Have a look at http://fuse.sourceforge.net for more information
