Has anybody else encountered this symptom? If so, have you diagnosed the cause of the problem? Have you fixed it?
on my updated SUSE 10.0 install I also have that problem. MP3's play in kaffeine and mplayer, but not xmms. I have these installed: mplayerplug-in-3.15-0.pm.0 xmms-kde-3.1-57 xmms-1.2.10-79.pm.1 xmms-lib-1.2.10-79.pm.1 amarok-xmms-1.3.6-1.guru.suse100.kde34 kaffeine-0.7.1-6

faad2-xmms-plugin-2.0-0.pm.6 amarok-xmms-1.3.6-5 xmms-devel-1.2.10-84 xmms-jack-0.14-2 flac-xmms-1.1.2-4 xmms-kde-3.1-57 xmms-lib-mad-1.2.10-79.pm.1 xmms-lib-1.2.10-84 python-xmms-2.04-4 xosd-xmms-2.2.12-4 xmms-1.2.10-84 xmms-gnome2-0-513 I found mine broken too and while doing some searching found a couple of SUSE provided files installed that blocked the mp3 play. Have fun! Lee
