The spanish website noticiasdot.com has published an article saying Novell has decided to kill SUSE Linux:
Don't believe this, as a matter of fact I just released SUSE Linux 10.1 Alpha3 to the mirrors, see the announce mailing list for details.
http://www.noticiasdot.com/publicaciones/2005/1105/1711/noticias/noticias_17...
It says:
"Novell terminates its desktop distribution "Suse Linux" and announces 600 dismissals
The Linux comunity is agitated. While the interests of the governments to the free software world rise, the enterprises that operate in this area don't find the magic formula to return the investment they've spent.
Novell announced this week the dismissal of 600 engineers and the stagnation to some of the most important projects of the company.
The dismissals affect the development teams of -until now- very important projects of the firm, who upset to the free software after buying Ximian and Novell. [Novell bought Novell? Who the hell has written this article?]
The teams of Evolution, Mono and Hula have been decimated. The dismissals have also affected those programmers who worked backing Firefox and in less proportion to the KDE development team.
The company officially announced it will stop developing its desktop distribution and will focus its policy to one license-based server-market-oriented distribution, competing in this area with Red Hat."
The article continues but I don't have time right now to translate it.
Is it FUD or what? Looks like if Bill was putting his hands in this website. We should really contact noticiasdot.com so that they remove the article and don't continue creating confussion.
