Kontact crashes after online updates

First I selected all but Postgresql and the Kernel, then after a reboot
I did the Kernel update with a reboot. I started Kontact and started
nosing around KMail. I created a log entry just to test it out and then
closed the program. Now I can't start kMail thru Kontact but can
without going thru Kontact. "Caused signal 11 (SIGSEGV)."
I can still run KMail or even Evolution which I'm glad for, but I'm just
wondering about the importance of Kontact.
