For, oh, 2 or 3 or maybe 4 machines, the raid or dd solutions are wonderful.

Once you get above that, take a look at autoyast -- it's a wonderful, beautiful piece of software. `yast2 autoyast` will take you into the config screen, which I think is installed by default. (Also, under "Misc" within yast, select "autoinstalltion")
