HI everyone, I am trying to install suse 9.3 on my pc but it has been not possible to recognize the monitor, so i get not video available after the installation, jus a black screen!! I am working on a Dell Computer Inspiron 6000, Celeron 1.6, 15.4 inch WXGA (1280 x 800) monitor, I bought it just a month ago and it seems suse 9.3 has not the appropriate driver to recognize the monitor. I started the installation as expected (just clicking on next button over and over again without selecting any advanced configuration), once the installation had finished the machine restarted, it showed the suse green screen asking for a choice: linux or Windows, I selected linux option then I hear the welcome suse sound but the screen was black!!!... I tried under text mode the following commands: sux and yast2, then I see a blue screen which allows me to reconfigure the hardware . when I select video section it shows the graphic card, however the monitor is Unknown by the system!!!! Y tried to modify it from yast2 but when y select modify it turns out a black screen again . I wonder what the problem could be????...i formatted the partition again and reinstalled suse, when suse installation showed Hardware Configuration (CD number five) I tried to modify the monitor configuration. Yast selects a default monitor VSA, so I tried to find a dell monitor or any other which turned out a succeffull test before finishing the installation. None of the available monitor resulted on a successful test. Not even VSA default monitor resulted on a successful test just a black screen!!!!... I would appretiate u help me to solve this problem. On the other hand i wonder whether suse 10 has overcome this issue. I mean, has open suse project considered the nessesary changes to avoid this problem on the latest suse version for inspiron 6000 hardware??? Thanks for your answers in advance. Juan Flores
