You have to install the MP3 packages from pacmans yast repository. There is a sticky on the forums
with the repositories, add them and install the xmms-mad and all the other mad packages. (I think
that's all you need, I can't confirm because I'm at work on a NT box at the moment :( )

why cant suse 10 eval play mp3's out of the box? ive even tried xmms and
beep media player and doesnt seem like any program on the machine wants
to play mp3s. is this just me? been playing with this for over an hour
and cant seem to get anything working. any suggestions?
