Hi, The only players -that I remember- that will play mp3's out of the box are: Real Player and Amarok (box version of course). However, if you want to enable mp3 support on XMMS you can download this rpm mainly targeted for Fedora Core 4 and use the following steps : 1- Download Fedora xmms-mp3 rpm from here: http://tinyurl.com/a4otu 2- You will not install this rpm. Simply extract its contents: rpm2cpio xmms-mp3-1.2.10-0.lvn.3.4.i386.rpm | cpio -iumd This will create the following structure on your current directory: /usr/lib/xmms/Input 3- Grab the file from the Input directory and put it in your real /usr/lib/ xmms/Input diretory. Open now xmms and it should work. If I remember right this particular rpm had some particular dependencies (Fedora related I think) that it was wiser just to extract the content and install it manually and thus it will not affect the consistency of your RPM database vs wanting to force the rpm installation.
