2. when dvd is inserted, it gets auto mounted to /media/
which is causing a bit of problem so I'd like to hange it to /media/dvd instead 3. For DVD-ROMs change 'cdrecorder' to 'cdrom' and 'dvdram' to 'dvd'. For DVD Recorders (I have a DVD RAM) either leave it as is or change 'dvdram' to 'dvdwriter'.
4. Update HAL by invoking 'rchal'.
Now, a DVD is mounted below /media/dvd.
Perfect, It worked! I left it as dvdram as it is dvd writer and had to do 'rchal restart'
3. xcdroast works for root but for regular user it spits errror:cdrecord: Cannot allocate memory. Cannot get SCSI I/O buffer, which matches 'Bugzilla Bug 136066 ' in 2.6.8 kernel but I have 2.6.11.4-21.9.
This is a known issue with all kernels >= 2.6.8. Until now, use it as root.
This is weird but similar problem has bit me again with Cisco vpn client. It does not want to run under regular user but works just fine under root which I'm a bit concerned to run it that way. Any suggestion here? Thx, Martin __________________________________ Start your day with Yahoo! - Make it your home page! http://www.yahoo.com/r/hs
