I have been trying to configure SAMBA to allow sharing of my Win2K system with my laptop (SuSE 10). I currently am able to access shares on my laptop from my home system. I can copy files from my laptop to the win2k. I cannot write anything on the laptop. I think I'm logged in as "guest". If I disable "guest ok" then I get prompted for a username/password combo. I had tried my default username/password and even the root user/pass but none seem to authenticate. I still cannot see the Win2K system (or ping it) from the laptop. In addition, I cannot use VNC from the Win2K system to access the laptop. (I could from my WinXP system at work yesterday.) Ideas? -- kai www.perfectreign.com linux - genuine windows replacement part
