Hello all!
I'm beginner with Linux, but I have to work with Borland Kylix 3. I have downloaded Suse Linux 10.0 what is very nice Linux distribution, because I was installed it on my new computer without any problems. But on the end I got one. I was very happy, that Suse 10.0 is working perfectly on new AMD64 3000+ Socket939 based on Abit motherboard, but I have tried to start Kylix 3 and compile empty project and run it from IDE. But I got IDE hanged, and killing of proccess was only solution of Kylix ending.
I have found information that said about problem what started on 2.6.11 kernel and newer and I had to switch to linux with kernel version < 2.6.10. I have reinstalled Suse to version 9.2, because it has kernel 2.6.8 what is correct for running Kylix 3 correctly.
But... I had to change motherboard to older version of AMD 64 Socket 754 and other (older) motherboard.
I know nothing of Kylix, but, why did you have to downgrade your processor and motherboard? SuSE 9.2 runs perfectly well on my AMD64 3500+ Socket 939.
