Hi there,

I run into problems on trying to install SuSE 10.0 - both Vendor DVD or CD1
as well as SUSE-10.0-CD-OSS-i386-GM-CD1.iso.

Hardware: Asus P5AD2 Premium, Pentium 4 3.2 GHz
SATA: 3 discs, DVD Plextor PX-712A
IDE: DVD Plextor PX-716A
SCSI: Adaptec 2940 Ultra SCSI adapter, DAT+Exabyte tape
USB: some hubs, HP 970cxi Printer, ext. HP DAT-72 tape, all switched off
additional sound card + TV card

No difference if I try a regular install, failsafe, or ACPI disabled, the
minikernel is loaded and starts to boot up to "searching for info file".

The last kernel message is...

Assertion failed! qc->flags & ATA_QCLFAG_ACTIVE,
drivers/scsi/libata-core.c,ata_qc_complete,line=3218

Obviously the scsi driver is unhappy...

A screenshot (digital camera) of the kernel messages is at ...

... and the output of hwinfo and boot.msg (generated by SuSE-9.3) are at ...

http://www.huber.und-boehm.de/suse10/boot.msg and hwinfo.log

Any clue?

Thanks for your help, oh Gurus of the world...

Winfried
