At this point one - maybe simple - question, I think simply to answer: What das the "-GM" stand for?
Gold Master. When companies distribute boxed versions of their products, they send the master copy to the printers in a gold plated disc or whatever. So this is called a Gold Master. In the present context for us people who download the CD/DVD image(s) it means nothing more than "final release" - that is to say, no more 10.0 releases will you have. Next release will be 10.1. 10.1 alpha is already out, incidentally. S:R)
