I was able to get it working with a little bit of this and that finally. I added the edge source in yast to get perl-gtk installed: http://mirrors.kernel.org/opensuse/distribution/SL-OSS-edge/inst-source/ once that was installed, I was able to choose the videodvd from packman in yast and it installed. upon trying to run it, it would pop up and disappear. So I ran it from a terminal and it was complaining about missing: Can't locate Locale/TextDomain.pm in @INC I used mcpan and installed the Bundle::CPAN and Locale::TextDomain. After that, the program fired right up. I have not tested copying a dvd yet as I am not at home and doing all this via remote desktop. But it looks like it is working now.
