As far as turning text/flowed format "off"... yes, I think if you edit the
preferences.js file (turning a couple of "true" values to "false" I think)
your message bodies behave normally but the problem is in the "wrapper"
encoding and wasn't affected. I did spend a lot of time on this and, IIRC, it
was an outstanding bug... maybe it's been fixed since then.
