Hi Simon,
I don't think it's meant to be this way. I had no problems installing 9.0 over
8.2. Likewise, 9.2 over 9.0 (I skipped 9.1). But the last time, with 9.3
over 9.2, I experienced the exact same symptom of old data being read and
'creeping into' the current configuration. Between that, and a few other
issues (hardware specific), I ended up reinstalling several times to get it
right. The outcome is great, so the effort was worth it, but it certainly had
me scratching my head that day.
