Obviously, there is a reason. To optimize traffic flow w.r.t. actual
patterns of human activity in the respective areas.

Does it actually harm you or hinder your life activities? Why do you let
a clock dictate your own activity patterns?

That is your opinion. Did you make it known to your elected
representatives when the pertinent bill was before congress?
