Amazon.com is selling SuSE Linux 10.0 for 10% off list (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000BD1R8U) and if you're an Amazon Prime customer, 2nd-day shipping is free and overnight is $3.99 (less, by a couple of bucks, than the amount of the 10% discount). That's Amazon in the U.S. Amazon Canada doesn't even list 9.3 yet. Get a friend in the U.S. to buy it for you and hand it across the border... And the costs keep mounting. I'd have to drive about 70 miles, just to get to the border. Nearest friend in the U.S. is hundreds of miles further in. All this to save what, $6???
Have Amazon US ship it to you. They won't charge PST/GST [Don't tell] and they ship quicker then Amazon Canada. They even ship Canada Post!
I see that it can even be added to a wedding registry. I should have mentioned this to my niece, who's getting married on Saturday. ;-)
I just tried to place an order and found they don't ship software to Canada. They will ship books, DVDs etc.
As a FYI, I had one version shipped from the SuSE store in California some time back. It was shipped by FedEX and I had to pay Duty and GST. Camelot doesn't have that problem. Mike
