Hi,
With the recent announcement of the Alpha1 availability, I have to wonder, is the Oct. 1 release date really going to be met? I don't see how a final release could possibly be produced and discs and manuals mastered and printed in the time remaining.
I also see some confusion, perhaps on my part, perhaps on others', as well. Amazon is stating Oct. 1 as a release date for SuSE Linux 10.0. The openSUSE.org web site's "roadmap" page (http://www.opensuse.org/Roadmap) shows Oct. 6 as a release date for SuSE Linux 10.0 OSS. According to Novell (http://www.novell.com/suselinux10) SuSE Linux 10.0 is "SHIPPING SEPTEMBER 30TH, 2005!". For me, that's tomorrow. For those working in Germany, it's even closer at hand...
I'm not going to be upset if these schedule dates (whichever you believe) aren't met, but I am curious what the schedule now looks like.
The 10.0 master is done and in the fab already. The Alpha1 snapshot is the 10.1 ALPHA1 ... for our next product. Ciao, Marcus
