hm.. that's really strange.. the only other possibility to change

Do have this problem on the local XDM, or a remote session?
Somehow X11 seems to fall back to the default keyboard mappings (which
is US qwerty)
in xdm.. Well I can't find a hint in the patch history of SLES9 for
this problem,
and I guess you've already tried it after SP2.. and maybe done a
complete reconfigure
with sax2..
I'm running out of ideas..
